Fair Hijacks Science Education Standards

If State Senator Mike Fair ends up getting away with allowing creationism to be taught in SC public schools, it will be a huge blow to the credibility of education in our state.

I have always been anti-voucher, a proponent of supporting and improving our public schools. But if those schools are going to stop teaching science at the whim of a few particularly ignorant politicians, sign me up for Sanford's program so I can send my child to a school where the scientific method is taught and valued.

It saddens me that this is a problem not just in South Carolina, but in Kansas, Pennsylvania and other places across the U.S. Where is the next generation of doctors, medical researchers, zoologists, and biotechnologists going to come from if our public schools aren't allowed to teach real science?
